23-Year-Old Brandon Lewis Fatally Shot in Northeast D.C.: Homicide Investigation Underway

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) is currently investigating a homicide that occurred on December 1 in Northeast, D.C.

In the evening at approximately 6:30 p.m., officers were called to the scene of a shooting in the 900 block of Rhode Island Ave., N.E. Upon arrival, they discovered a man who had sustained gunshot wounds. He was quickly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

The victim has since been identified as 23-year-old Brandon Lewis, a resident of Southwest, D.C.

Following the incident, on the same day, 22-year-old Clarence McKnight was apprehended and subsequently charged with second-degree murder while armed. The investigation into the motive behind the shooting is still ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist in the case.
