(ABC 6 News) – A 19-year-old teenager has tragically lost his life in a landslide incident at Minneopa State Park Falls on Saturday afternoon. The Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office received an emergency call at approximately 4:52 p.m., reporting a landslide and the entrapment of a person.
Chief Deputy Jeremy Brennan confirmed that the victim was a young male, and unfortunately, he was found deceased when rescue workers reached him. The identity of the teenager has not been released.

The incident is currently under investigation, and the Sheriff’s Office has promised to provide further information as it becomes available. Several local agencies, including the Mankato Dept. of Public Safety Police and Fire Divisions, Minnesota State Patrol, South Bend Fire Dept., Lake Crystal Fire Dept., and Mayo Clinic Ambulance Service, provided assistance at the scene.
