Two teenagers from Las Vegas have been arrested for allegedly breaking into a home, pistol-whipping the residents, and stealing over $28,000 and a vehicle. On November 25th, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department received a call reporting a robbery in a residential neighborhood. The victims stated that three individuals entered their home through the backyard, held them at gunpoint, and stole their money and car.

The suspects have been identified as 18-year-old Tyrine Campbell and 18-year-old Hunter Richmond. According to the police report, one of the victims was smoking a cigarette in the backyard around 1:30 a.m. when the suspects approached him with guns. They forced him to lie on the ground, undress, and then escorted him through the house, demanding all the money inside. The suspects went to the master bedroom where they pistol-whipped the victim before gathering the other five family members and demanding money from them.

After searching each room upstairs, the suspects forced the family downstairs at gunpoint and brought them to the garage where a safe was located. They made the family kneel on the ground and give them the combination to the safe. While downstairs, one of the suspects pistol-whipped a 15-year-old victim and another victim was kicked in the head, causing her to fall into another victim.

The suspects then took the victims’ car keys, locked the family in the garage, and left in their vehicle. The family reported that $28,400 in cash, two iPhones, and the vehicle were stolen. However, the police later recovered the phones. The stolen vehicle was found parked near Lindell facing north off of Cactus Avenue with its headlights on but no suspects inside.

Police believe this crime matches the modus operandi of a string of burglaries in multiple counties in California, where all the victims were Asian business owners. During the investigation, a person named Lorenzo Taylor, who was in the High Desert Detention Center in California, made phone calls to associates discussing continuing their operation to get money for his bail. One of the associates mentioned a person named “TC,” later identified as Campbell, who bragged about hitting a house for $30,000.

Campbell was arrested during a vehicle stop, and Richmond was found in the driver’s seat of the vehicle, which was registered to his mother. Both suspects attempted to run but were apprehended. Campbell confessed to driving the vehicle to the house and being in charge of controlling the victims. Richmond claimed that he did not know what they were going to do when they arrived at the house.

Their next court appearance is scheduled for December 4th, and they are ordered to have no contact with each other.
