A man from Las Vegas has been tragically killed in a rollover crash in Clark County, which took place nearly two weeks ago. The victim has been identified as 25-year-old Leovigildo Morales Gomes. According to Nevada State Police, Gomes died from his injuries at the scene of the crash. The incident occurred on the evening of November 18, at around 9:49 p.m., along State Route 161, just east of mile marker 4.
Upon responding to the crash, authorities determined that a Jeep Wrangler was traveling eastbound on SR161 when, for reasons that are still unknown, the driver veered off the travel lane to the right. The vehicle then collided with a sign, entered a ditch, rotated, and ultimately overturned. The force of the crash caused both occupants to be ejected from the vehicle. Gomes was identified as the passenger in the Jeep Wrangler.

An ongoing investigation into the accident is being carried out by the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Southern Command M.I.R.T (Multidisciplinary Investigation & Reconstruction Team). This marks the 68th fatal crash for the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol – Southern Command in 2023, resulting in a total of 82 fatalities.
