A woman who has accused Jamie Foxx of sexual assault has requested to remain anonymous throughout the legal process. The accuser, known as Jane Doe, expressed concerns about potential retaliation from the Academy Award-winning actor and his associates.
In court documents, Jane Doe stated, “I suffered psychological and emotional injuries as a result of the sexual assault mentioned in the Complaint.” She also explained her desire for anonymity, saying, “This matter is highly sensitive, and I have already experienced significant shock, shame, and embarrassment due to the prominence and celebrity status of the Defendants.”

Jane Doe’s request for anonymity stemmed from her fear for personal safety, particularly because the case gained widespread media attention. The alleged incident occurred in August 2015 at a New York bar called Catch NYC. Doe claimed that Foxx groped her breasts in a private area of the venue and proceeded to touch her intimate areas.
The lawsuit was filed under the now-expired New York Adult Survivors Act, which saw over 3000 civil suits, including ones against Diddy, Russell Brand, and Interscope co-founder Jimmy Iovine.
Jane Doe mentioned the difficulty of speaking out about the events, stating, “The sexual assault I suffered has caused depression, anxiety, lack of sleep, and distress. I am fearful that a public disclosure will cause further emotional trauma.”
Jamie Foxx recently portrayed lawyer Willie E. Gary in the film “The Burial” following a hospitalization for an undisclosed health scare in April.
