Drunk Man Stabs Toddler Son and Female Neighbor to Death in Nabarangpur Village

Shocking news has emerged from Gujumapadar village in Papdahandi block, Nabarangpur, as a 29-year-old man reportedly stabbed his two-year-old son and a female neighbor to death. The accused, identified as Radha Santa, was intoxicated at the time of the incident. The victims have been identified as Radha’s toddler son, Bibe Santa, and a 57-year-old neighbor named Janai Santa. The horrifying murders occurred at around 8 am on Friday.

According to sources, Radha engaged in a heated argument with his wife, Malati, over a trivial matter in the morning. Enraged, he grabbed a knife and attempted to attack his wife, who managed to escape by fleeing the house in fear.

Driven by anger, Radha turned his attention towards his innocent toddler and mercilessly stabbed him with the knife. Janai, who happened to witness the horrifying act while passing by Radha’s house, rushed to save Bibe. Tragically, she too fell victim to Radha’s violent rampage and was fatally stabbed. Both victims succumbed to their injuries on the spot.

As news of the shocking incident spread, villagers rushed to the scene and apprehended Radha. In a fit of rage, they subjected him to severe beating before restraining him with a rope. The accused suffered injuries to his head and limbs during the assault.

Upon receiving information about the incident, the police arrived at the village and rescued Radha from the furious mob. He was initially taken to the Papdahandi community health center and later transferred to the Nabarangpur district headquarters hospital. Due to the deterioration of his condition, he was subsequently moved to Saheed Laxman Naik Medical College and Hospital in Koraput.

A team of forensic experts was dispatched to the crime scene to conduct an investigation. The bodies of the two victims were seized and sent to the hospital for postmortem examination.

Later in the day, Janai’s son, Simanchal Santa, lodged a First Information Report (FIR) at the Maidalpur police station. Based on his complaint, the police have registered a case, and further investigation is currently underway.
