A 40-year-old man from Brantley, Alabama has been charged with murder in the death of Angel Renea Soisson, a 32-year-old woman from Dozier, according to Sergeant Jeremy J. Burkett of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency. The incident took place near the 6000 Block of Old Three Notch Road in the Bullock Community of Crenshaw County. Dustin Lee Burbage was also charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. ALEA launched a homicide investigation on November 27 at the request of the Crenshaw County Sheriff’s Office and the Crenshaw County District Attorney’s Office.
Soisson’s family confirmed on social media that deputies informed them that the shooting was an act of domestic violence. Bessie Williams, Soisson’s mother, expressed her grief on social media, stating that her daughter lost her life at the hands of her boyfriend. The family has created a Go Fund Me page to help cover the costs of the funeral, as Soisson did not have life insurance and they are struggling financially.

Dustin Lee Burbage has been taken into custody and booked into the Crenshaw County Jail. The investigation is still ongoing, and no further information has been released. Once the investigation is complete, the findings will be handed over to the Crenshaw County District Attorney’s Office.
