Israel Resumes Offensive in Gaza, Hostages Still Held by Palestinian Militants

As Israel resumes its offensive in Gaza, the fate of the remaining hostages held by Palestinian militants remains uncertain. The truce deal between Israel and Hamas has led to the release of 105 captives, including 33 children, 49 women, and 28 men. However, there are still 136 hostages being held, according to the Israeli army.

Among the hostages are 17 women and children, including Shiri Bibas, whose 10-month-old son, Kfir Bibas, is claimed to have been killed in an Israeli air strike along with his mother and four-year-old brother. The Israeli government has yet to confirm their fate. Two hostages have been confirmed dead: Noa Marciano, a 19-year-old soldier, and Yehudit Weiss, a 65-year-old woman.

At least 91 men are still held captive, including 10 aged between 18 and 22 who were on military service at the time of the attack. Some of the hostages are fathers of children who have already been released. Among the captives are also two elderly men, Oded Lifshitz, 83, and Amiram Kuper, 85, whose wives were released by Hamas over a month ago.

33 people abducted during the Hamas massacre at the Tribe of Nova festival are still being held hostage. Only five hostages were released during the truce, including 21-year-old French-Israeli Mia Shem. The majority of the captives from the festival are from Nir Oz kibbutz near the Gaza border, where at least 71 residents were abducted.

The situation remains tense as Israel resumes its offensive in Gaza. The international community has called for the immediate release of all hostages, and efforts to negotiate a peaceful resolution continue. The exact conditions and well-being of the hostages are still unknown, but the hope is that all captives will be safely returned to their families soon.
