Tragedy Strikes as Toddler Chokes on Rice Cracker
In a heart-wrenching incident, a one-and-a-half-year-old child lost his life after choking on a piece of ‘murukku’, a popular rice cracker. The terrifying incident took place in Alappuzha, Kerala, on Friday morning, leaving the family devastated.

The victim has been identified as Vaishnav, one of the twin children of Vijeesh and Divya Das, residents of Mavelikkara. The unfortunate incident occurred around 9:30 AM when Vaishnav consumed the rice cracker without his parents’ knowledge.
As soon as they became aware of the situation, the panic-stricken parents rushed Vaishnav to a nearby private hospital. However, despite the best efforts of the medical staff, they were unable to save the toddler’s life.
At the time of the incident, Vaishnav was in the care of his mother, while his father, Vijeesh, a carpenter by profession, was away in Palakkad for work-related errands. The family is now grappling with the shock and sorrow of losing their beloved child in such a tragic manner.
Choking incidents, although uncommon, can be fatal, especially among young children who are not yet fully aware of the risks associated with certain foods.
