Tragic Accident on Pune-Nashik Highway Claims Lives of Madhukar Ahire, Shantaram Ahire, and Pankaj Jagtap

ACCIDENT! Three people have been killed and five others injured in a tragic accident on the foggy Pune-Nashik Highway. The incident occurred this morning when an SUV collided with a moving truck.

The accident took place at around 5:45 am when the SUV, a Cruiser jeep, was traveling from Nashik to Pune’s Bhosari. The thick fog that covered the road made it difficult for the driver to see the truck ahead. As a result, the SUV crashed into the truck with great force, causing the front half of the vehicle to be severely damaged and killing three of the eight occupants instantly.

The victims have been identified as Madhukar Ahire, aged 52, Shantaram Ahire, aged 50, and Pankaj Jagtap, aged 36. They were residents of Jaikheda in Satara district. The five injured individuals, two of whom are in critical condition, have been taken to the Manchar Sub-District Hospital. Two of the injured were later transferred to a private hospital for further treatment.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the thick fog in the area may have contributed to the accident. It is believed that the SUV driver failed to notice the truck ahead, leading to the collision. However, a thorough investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the crash.

Authorities from the Manchar Police quickly responded to the scene and cleared the debris of the SUV, allowing traffic to resume on both sides of the busy highway by 8 am.
