A Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist was killed in a clash with security forces in the Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials confirmed on Friday. Acting on specific intelligence about the presence of a terrorist in Arihal village, security forces launched a search operation in the area on Thursday. During the operation, the terrorist, identified as Kifayat Ayoub Alie, opened fire on the security forces, prompting them to retaliate. The exchange of gunfire resulted in the neutralization of the terrorist.
Kifayat Ayoub Alie, a resident of Pinjoora Shopian, was associated with the proscribed terror outfit LeT. His body was recovered from the encounter site. According to police records, Alie was involved in numerous terror-related crimes. The security forces also seized incriminating material, along with arms and ammunition, including a pistol, two magazines, five rounds, and two grenades from the site.
