Gujarat, IPS officer’s wife commits suicide in Ahmedabad
In a tragic incident, the wife of a Gujarat-cadre IPS officer allegedly died by suicide in Ahmedabad. The deceased, identified as Shaluben, 47, was found hanging from the ceiling fan in a room at their residence in Thaltej. The IPS officer, RT Susara, discovered the body early in the morning after his wife returned to Ahmedabad from Surat the previous night.

The police have launched an investigation into the incident, but no suicide note was found at the scene. A case of accidental death has been registered at the Bodakdev police station. Shaluben’s body has been sent for post-mortem examination at Sola Civil Hospital.
According to Assistant Commissioner of Police S M Patel, Susara and his wife had been in Surat for a few days to attend a wedding. Susara had taken leave and returned to Ahmedabad on Thursday afternoon, while Shaluben arrived later that night when he was already asleep.
The IPS officer discovered his wife’s body hanging from the ceiling in another room on the ground floor. He immediately alerted the local police about the tragic incident. Preliminary investigations suggest that Shaluben ended her life late at night for unknown reasons.
Susara, a promotee IPS officer of the 2011 batch, currently serves as the Superintendent of Police, Marine Task Force, in Hazira, Surat.
