Elderly Woman Dies in Car Crash on White Horse Pike in Stratford, NJ

Stratford, NJ — A tragic collision in Stratford claimed the life of an elderly woman on Thursday, according to officials. The incident occurred at the intersection of the White Horse Pike and Wellington Avenue, where two vehicles collided at approximately 3:39 p.m. Police Chief Ronald M. Morello stated that a passenger was entrapped and unconscious.

Emergency responders worked swiftly to extricate the 77-year-old woman from the wreckage. She was immediately rushed to Jefferson Stratford Hospital, but sadly, she was pronounced dead shortly after her arrival.

Authorities have not released the identity of the deceased, as they are currently in the process of notifying her family members.

Fortunately, no other individuals sustained injuries in the accident. The cause of the collision is under investigation, and it remains unclear whether any charges will be filed.

To date, 37 people have lost their lives in crashes on Camden County’s roads this year, according to state data. This number is lower compared to the same period last year, which saw 49 fatalities. Tragically, since November 13, five people have already fallen victim to deadly collisions in the county, with four of those incidents occurring on the White Horse Pike.
