Derrick Wilson Killed in Shooting near Ferry Lake Rd and Bill St in Tifton

TIFTON, Ga. (WALB) – A man has been killed and two others have been injured following a shooting near Ferry Lake Rd and Bill St in Tifton, according to authorities. The incident occurred on Thursday, Nov. 30 at approximately 7:30 p.m. The Tifton Police Department (TPD) received reports of gunshots and a person being shot in the area.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered two males and a female. One of the victims, identified as Derrick Wilson, aged 20, was pronounced dead at the scene. The remaining victims were immediately transported to Tifton Regional Medical Center (TRMC) by Tift County EMS for further treatment of their injuries.

In order to aid in the investigation, the Tifton Police Department has sought assistance from the GBI Sylvester Field Office. The investigation is currently ongoing and no further details have been released at this time.
