Fatal Single-Vehicle Crash Claims Life of North Carolina Man in Indiana
Indiana State Police are currently investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that resulted in the death of a North Carolina man on Wednesday night in Randolph County.

The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. when authorities received reports of a serious vehicle crash on County Road 300 W. in the city of Winchester. According to preliminary information from ISP, a maroon 1997 Lincoln Mark VIII was traveling northbound on County Road 300 W. when it crossed over onto State Road 32. This sudden movement caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle, which then veered off the east side of the roadway.
The car crashed through a fence before finally coming to a stop in a nearby pasture, where it eventually rolled over. During this time, the driver, identified as 44-year-old Jason Beckley from Mebane, North Carolina, was partially ejected from the vehicle. Tragically, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Responding to the incident, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Department, Winchester Police Department, and the Randolph County Coroner’s Office all provided assistance to the Indiana State Police during their investigation.
Authorities are still gathering information to determine the exact cause of the crash. It is unclear at this time if speed, alcohol, or any other factors contributed to the accident. The investigation is ongoing, and further details will be released as they become available.
