26-Year-Old Nevada Cold Case Solved: Unidentified Woman Named as Lorena Gayle Mosley

The body of a woman, discovered buried under a pile of rocks in a rural area in 1997, has been identified as Lorena Gayle Mosley, who was 41 years old at the time of her death. Othram has successfully identified individuals in multiple cold cases, including Beth Doe, Septic Tank Sam, and Delta Dawn, showcasing their expertise in this area.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) played a crucial role in the identification process. They used old paper fingerprint records to match the prints taken from Mosley’s body post-mortem. This collaborative effort between traditional methods like fingerprinting and advanced techniques like genetic genealogy demonstrates the potential for solving complex cases.
Following Mosley’s identification, her family has been informed and will now be able to claim her remains. Dr. Laura D. Knight, the chief medical examiner and coroner of Washoe County, expressed deep satisfaction in being able to provide Ms. Mosley with the dignity of being buried under her own name.
