Israeli sources have reported that two Palestinians from occupied East Jerusalem opened fire at a bus stop, targeting Israeli settlers. The attack resulted in the death of three Israelis and several others wounded. The assailants were shot by Israeli police and paramilitary settlers who were present at the scene, killing both of them. The identities of two of the killed Israelis have not yet been confirmed, but it has been reported that one was a 24-year-old woman and the other a 70-year-old man. At least 11 people were injured in the shooting attack, according to Israeli Ynet News.

One of the victims has been identified as Elimelech Vaserman, a judge in the Ashdod Rabbinical Court. The two Palestinians killed in the incident were identified as Morad Nimir, 38, and Ibrahim Nimir, 30, from Sur Baher town. Following the attack, Israeli soldiers raided the homes of the Palestinian siblings, vandalizing their properties and assaulting their families. One family member was also abducted during the raid. It is important to note that Morad Nimir was a former political prisoner who had been held by Israel for ten years.

In response to the attack, the Israeli army closed the Qalandia terminal and imposed severe restrictions on various roadblocks, including Jaba’, Hizma, and Al-Ezariya. These measures also included closing all roads leading to Sur Baher town.

US Ambassador to Israel, Jack Lew, condemned the attack, describing it as “despicable.” However, he has yet to condemn the high number of Palestinian casualties resulting from Israeli forces’ actions in Gaza, which includes over 15,000 confirmed deaths and more than 36,000 injured Palestinians, mainly women and children.

A security camera captured the moment of the attack, showing the two Palestinian men attempting to flee. One of them was shot by the door of a car he was apparently trying to escape in, while the second man was shot while on his knees with his hands up, seemingly attempting to surrender.

The incident occurred on the sixth day of a truce in Gaza, during which hostage exchanges have been taking place between Palestinians in Gaza and over 5,000 Palestinians held in Israeli detention facilities. In recent days, Israeli forces have also killed a Palestinian man in Betunia town and four Palestinians, including two children, in Jenin and its refugee camp.
