31-Year-Old Troy Remington Captured After Ramming Police Cruisers in Stolen Car

A man accused of crashing stolen cars into police vehicles in mid-November has been caught in Colorado Springs. The suspect, identified as 31-year-old Troy Remington, was apprehended on Wednesday after trying to flee from officers.

According to the police, they discovered the stolen car on Wednesday morning and saw Remington getting inside while conducting surveillance. As a wanted felony suspect, detectives were aware that he was armed with a gun. Consequently, they enlisted the help of the CSPD Tactical Enforcement Unit (TEU) to assist in his capture.

With the support of SWAT, police dogs, and CSPD’s drone team, detectives followed Remington to Purdue Street. They observed him outside the stolen vehicle and proceeded to approach him. However, upon their approach, Remington jumped back into the car in an attempt to escape.

Using their own cars, officers were able to surround and trap the stolen vehicle, preventing Remington from fleeing. Realizing his escape route was blocked, Remington then tried to run from the officers on foot. However, the TEU officers were able to catch him after a short pursuit and a brief struggle.

Prior to his capture, Remington was already wanted on three warrants, including aggravated robbery. He has been taken into custody and is currently being held at the El Paso County jail without bond.

The arrest of Remington was the result of a coordinated effort between the police, detectives, and specialized units. The successful operation highlights the importance of teamwork and collaboration in apprehending dangerous suspects.
