New Delhi: A car accident in Delhi has resulted in the death of a 27-year-old man and left another person injured. The authorities have arrested the culprit after reviewing footage from over 100 CCTV cameras in the area.
The deceased has been identified as Karan Gupta, a resident of Vishnu Garden. The injured individual is Omkar Patle from Raghuveer Nagar, who is currently receiving medical treatment.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi), Pranav Tayal, a call was received on November 26 reporting an accident on Panchkuian Road. Upon arrival at the scene, the police were informed that the injured victims had been taken to Lady Hardinge hospital.
“Gupta was pronounced dead by doctors, while Patle, due to his condition, was unable to provide a statement,” stated the DCP. Despite their inability to obtain eyewitness accounts and Patle’s limited cooperation, the police team persevered and thoroughly analyzed the footage from the numerous CCTV cameras in the vicinity of the crime scene. Eventually, they successfully identified the offending vehicle.
The authorities then obtained the ownership details of the vehicle and interrogated the owner, Ganga Singh Hanspal. During the questioning, Hanspal confessed to driving the car at the time of the accident. Consequently, he was arrested, but later released on bail following the appropriate legal procedures, added the DCP.
This incident highlights the dedication and meticulousness of the police team involved. Despite the lack of eyewitnesses and limited cooperation from the injured victim, they persisted in their efforts, leading to the identification and subsequent arrest of the responsible party. The police’s commitment to their duty has allowed justice to be served in this tragic case.
