19-year-old Dustin Defreitas Arrested for Deadly Shooting of Sakdara Khoeun

A man wanted for a deadly shooting in Massachusetts has been arrested at an Amtrak train stop in Stanislaus County, California. The suspect, identified as 19-year-old Dustin Defreitas, was apprehended on Thanksgiving night, according to authorities. Massachusetts State Police had alerted law enforcement in Stanislaus County on November 23 that Defreitas was passing through the area on an Amtrak train.

Defreitas was wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of 19-year-old Sakdara Khoeun in Lowell, Massachusetts. The shooting occurred at a house party on November 22, and Khoeun was rushed to the hospital by his friends but succumbed to his injuries the following day. An autopsy revealed that Khoeun died from a single gunshot wound to the abdomen.

Following the incident, an arrest warrant was issued for Defreitas on multiple charges. The Stockton Police Department was able to apprehend him around 8:30 p.m. at the S. San Joaquin Street stop on Thanksgiving night. Defreitas is currently in custody and is expected to be transported back to Massachusetts for arraignment at a later date.
