19-Year-Old Assam Native Izazul Electrocuted under G.N. Chetty Road Flyover in T. Nagar

A 19-year-old from Assam died from electrocution under the flyover of G.N. Chetty Road in T. Nagar on Wednesday night. The local police are now investigating the incident.

According to a senior police official, they received information around 11 p.m. on Wednesday about a body found beneath the flyover on G.N. Chetty Road, near a streetlight opposite Vani Mahal. Responding swiftly, a police team along with Fire and Rescue Services personnel rushed to the scene. The first step was to cut off the power supply to the streetlight. Once the area was safe, the police retrieved the body and sent it to Government Royapettah Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Further investigations revealed that the victim was a young man named Izazul, who worked at a hotel. He met his tragic fate when he unknowingly stepped into water that had collected on the road due to a power leakage from the streetlight. The electric shock led to his unfortunate demise.

The Pondy Bazaar police have opened a case to delve deeper into the incident. They are determined to uncover all the details surrounding the electrocution and establish the exact cause of the power leakage.

This unfortunate incident serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining proper electrical infrastructure to prevent such accidents.
