Victim sexually assaulted by fake contractors in West Chester, Pennsylvania

Two men have been arrested in West Chester, Pennsylvania for allegedly impersonating contractors and sexually assaulting a woman in her home, according to authorities. The incident occurred on November 22, when the victim reported that three men had come to her door pretending to be repairmen. One of the men, who identified himself as “Jimmy” and claimed to be a contractor, offered to perform home repairs for the victim. He provided her with a business card for a company called “Everest Roofing & Masonry” and entered her home, where he allegedly assaulted her.

After the victim contacted the police, officers called the phone number listed on the business card and arranged a meeting. Two of the three men mentioned by the victim were present, and they were promptly taken into custody. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that “Everest Roofing & Masonry” did not exist, and the men were using the fake business to scam local residents.

The suspects have been identified as James McDonagh from Ireland and John Delaney from England. Neither of the men has a fixed residence in the United States. They are currently in police custody facing charges related to impersonation, sexual assault, and fraud.

The West Chester Borough Police Department’s public information officer, Dave March, issued a warning on Facebook urging the public to be cautious of individuals posing as contractors. He advised residents to verify the legitimacy of any contractors before allowing them into their homes.

The victim in this case bravely came forward and reported the assault, leading to the arrest of the suspects. The West Chester police department is encouraging anyone who may have had a similar encounter with these men or any other suspicious individuals to come forward and contact the authorities.

As the investigation continues, the community is reminded to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions when dealing with strangers who approach their homes offering services.
