BEXLEY, Ohio — Two teenage girls were taken into custody after allegedly crashing a stolen vehicle into police cruisers and another vehicle on Tuesday morning. Police have released dash and body-worn camera video showing the moments of the incident.
The incident began when Columbus Division of Police officers responded to a call about a stolen SUV. The caller, a relative of the SUV’s owner, had been following the vehicle. The stolen SUV was then spotted at the intersection of Bexford Place and South Cassady Avenue around 7:15 a.m.

Dashcam video from Bexley police shows officers approaching the stolen vehicle as it crashed into a Columbus police cruiser, another vehicle, and then a Bexley cruiser in an attempt to get away. Both police departments had their guns drawn as they demanded the girls to exit the car.
The passenger in the stolen car was visibly upset as the officers handcuffed her. The suspect behind the wheel was identified as a 13-year-old girl. Both girls were taken into custody.
According to the police, the SUV was stolen from the Linden area earlier that morning. The victim’s family stated that the mother was warming up the car in her driveway before taking her kids to school when it was stolen.
Thankfully, no one was injured during the incident.
