The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) swiftly responded to a report of a shooting at approximately 4 a.m. in the 3200 block of South Holt Rd.
The victim, identified as 18-year-old Wyatt Andrew Payton, was discovered lying in the road and was pronounced dead at the scene. This devastating loss has undoubtedly caused immense grief for his loved ones.

A significant development in the case is the detainment of a teenager for questioning. This teenager is believed to be the individual who intervened in the disagreement and discharged the firearm. However, following consultations with the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office, the IMPD released the teenager while further investigations are carried out.
