Van Collision in West Bengal Leaves Four Construction Workers Dead

KOLKATA: Tragedy struck on Wednesday morning in West Bengal’s Hooghly district when a van carrying construction workers was hit by a truck, resulting in the death of four labourers. The incident took place at Kangsari More in the Gurap police station area during the workers’ morning commute.

According to a police officer, the collision between the truck and the van caused serious injuries to the workers. They were immediately rushed to Burdwan Medical College and Hospital, where medical professionals unfortunately pronounced them dead.

The deceased have been identified as Jeevandeep Baul Das (26), Mangaldeep Baul Das (32), Biswajit Roy (35), and Diwakar Singh (22). All of them were residents of the Siyapur area in Gurap. Their bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of their demise.

The incident has left the local community in shock and mourning. The loss of four young lives has raised concerns about road safety and the need for stricter enforcement of traffic regulations. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and whether any negligence or violations contributed to the tragic accident.
