Man Arrested in Salisbury for Assault with a Deadly Weapon
A 48-year-old man, Alonzo Ivery Gibson, Jr., has been taken into custody in Concord on charges of assaulting someone in Salisbury. Gibson was arrested on Corban Ave. late Tuesday night and was jailed on Wednesday. He is now facing several charges including assault with a deadly weapon, terrorize/injure, breaking and entering, and larceny after breaking and entering. The bond has been set at $15,000.

Warrants had been issued for Gibson’s arrest by the Salisbury Police following an incident that was reported on Tuesday. The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. at a residence in Salisbury. The homeowner stated that he heard a loud bang on the door. Gibson, who has been identified as the suspect, forcefully entered the house, pushing past the homeowner.
Once inside, Gibson allegedly threw a large candle at the victim, causing injury. He then used a large shard of glass to further threaten the victim before grabbing a coat from a hanger and fleeing the scene. The Salisbury Police are currently investigating the motive behind the attack.
Gibson has an extensive criminal record, making this arrest not his first brush with the law. He is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday to face the latest charges against him.
