Patrick Eugene Everage, 45, reportedly punched the victim multiple times on the gaming floor because his motorcycle had been repossessed. Everage, who lives on Bittersweet Lane, was charged with second-degree battery, which carries a maximum sentence of six years in prison.

The incident occurred around 12:20 a.m. when off-duty police officer Cpl. Rod West was alerted to a verbal altercation on the gaming floor. As he made his way to the scene, West noticed a man with blood on his face, swelling around his left eye, and small cuts above his eye and on his lower lip.

According to the victim, he was sitting at a gaming machine when Everage approached him and began punching him in the face. The victim tried to escape, but Everage continued to assault him with two more punches to the face.

Surveillance footage confirmed that Everage was walking past the security office, leading to his apprehension by Officer West. The victim positively identified Everage as the man who attacked him when shown a picture.

Everage was taken into custody and transported to the Garland County Detention Center. While being placed into the patrol car, Everage admitted that he punched the victim because he was upset about his motorcycle being repossessed.

Second-degree battery is a serious offense, and if convicted, Everage could face a substantial prison sentence. The incident highlights the importance of maintaining calm and resolving disputes through peaceful means, rather than resorting to violence. Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort is cooperating fully with law enforcement in their investigation.
