Alleged Robbery Suspect Omarrion Price Fires Shots at Police Officers in Albuquerque

An alleged robbery suspect from Albuquerque has been arrested after shooting at police officers in Clovis, New Mexico. The Clovis Police Department had received information about 18-year-old Omarrion Price, who was wanted in connection with a robbery in Albuquerque. Clovis detectives found Price on Ross Street on Wednesday, Nov. 22, which led to a vehicle pursuit.

During the pursuit on West Christopher Drive, Price fired shots towards the police vehicles. He then abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot in the 1000 block of the street. Clovis police immediately worked with the Curry County Sheriff’s Office to establish a perimeter in the surrounding area. Thankfully, no law enforcement personnel were injured during the incident.

After an extensive search, Price was eventually located on Williams Avenue and taken into custody. The police also arrested the driver of the vehicle, 18-year-old Sheryka Baca. Baca is now facing charges of aggravated fleeing from law enforcement and harboring a felon.

Law enforcement was able to recover the firearm believed to belong to Price. He has been transported to the Curry County Adult Detention Center. Price is facing multiple charges, including assault with intent to commit a violent felony against an officer, shooting at or from a motor vehicle, tampering with evidence, receiving stolen property, and resisting an officer.

This incident highlights the dangers faced by law enforcement officers in their line of duty. The Clovis Police Department, in collaboration with the Curry County Sheriff’s Office, displayed swift action and coordination to ensure the safety of the community and apprehend the alleged suspect.
