18-Year-Old Sheryka Baca Arrested for Robberies and Firing at Police in Clovis, New Mexico

CLOVIS, New Mexico (KCBD) – A teenager accused of committing multiple robberies in Albuquerque and shooting at law enforcement officers during a chase is now in police custody.

On November 22, the police received information that 18-year-old Omarrion Price was in Clovis. Price was suspected of carrying out several armed robberies in Albuquerque.

During a search in the 600 block of Ross Street, the police identified a vehicle associated with Price. They tried to stop the vehicle, but it quickly sped away.

As the officers pursued the vehicle, they noticed two individuals inside: the driver, 18-year-old Sheryka Baca, and Price in the passenger seat. Price then pulled out a handgun and started firing at the police.

The chase eventually came to an end in the 1000 block of West Christopher Drive, where Price fled on foot. However, Baca was swiftly apprehended.

Both the Clovis police and deputies from the Curry County Sheriff’s Office established a perimeter in the area. With the help of K9 Officer Skipper, Price was located a few blocks away and arrested. Authorities also discovered a firearm in the vicinity.

Price is currently being held at the Curry County Adult Detention Center. He faces several charges, including assault with intent to commit a violent felony upon a peace officer, shooting at or from a motor vehicle, tampering with evidence, receiving stolen property, resisting, evading or obstructing an officer, armed robbery, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, attempt to commit a felony, and violation of probation conditions.

Meanwhile, Baca has been charged with fleeing from law enforcement and harboring a felon.

The swift arrest of Price brings relief to both the communities of Albuquerque and Clovis, as law enforcement agencies work together to ensure public safety.
