15-Year-Old Boy Charged in String of Armed Robberies in Chicago

A 15-year-old boy has been charged with multiple armed robberies that took place over several hours in August in Chicago. The teenager, whose identity has not been disclosed due to his status as a minor, was apprehended on Monday in the 5300 block of West Potomac Avenue. Chicago police have charged him with 11 counts of armed robbery with a firearm.

Law enforcement officials have identified the teenager as one of the suspects involved in a series of armed robberies that occurred on August 20 between 12:30 a.m. and 5:40 a.m. The crimes took place in various neighborhoods, including Englewood, East Garfield Park, Austin, Auburn Gresham, Grand Crossing, McKinley Park, and Bridgeport.

The spree of robberies began on West 63rd Street, where a 29-year-old woman was targeted. The teenager is accused of participating in robberies that happened on West Lake Street, North Central Avenue, West 79th Street, South Racine Avenue, East 79th Street, South Ashland Avenue, and West 35th Street. The victims ranged in age from 22 to 54 years old.

Chicago police are currently seeking other individuals believed to be involved in these robberies. No further details have been released at this time.
