Scam Artist Posing as Contractor Sexually Assaults Woman in West Chester
Police in West Chester, Pennsylvania are investigating a disturbing incident in which a woman was sexually assaulted by a scam artist pretending to be a contractor. The incident occurred on Wednesday, November 22, around 2:36 p.m. when the victim was approached by three men going door-to-door soliciting home repairs.

According to the victim, one of the men, who identified himself as “Jimmy,” claimed to be a contractor and began discussing repairs to items such as roofs, brick, and siding. He even provided the victim with a business card containing a fake name and phone number. However, things took a horrifying turn when “Jimmy” entered the victim’s home and sexually assaulted her.
The West Chester Police Department took immediate action and called the number on the card, arranging a meeting with the scammers. Two of the men showed up and were promptly taken into custody. They have been identified as James McDonagh from Ireland and John Delaney from England.
Shockingly, investigators discovered that neither McDonagh nor Delaney have a fixed residence in the United States. McDonagh, the man who posed as “Jimmy,” has been charged with aggravated indecent assault and indecent assault, while Delaney faces charges of deceptive business practices and operating a vehicle with a fraudulent license plate, among others.
West Chester Police are urging anyone who had contact with these men or who placed any deposits for home repairs to come forward and contact the detectives at 610-436-1337.
