19-Year-Old Jayden Rivera Suspected in Gruesome Triple Slaying in the Bronx

A 19-year-old man suspected of a brutal triple murder in the Bronx claimed he was “hearing voices” before allegedly stabbing his 5-year-old half-brother and his parents to death. The suspect, Jayden Rivera, is a college student from upstate New York and is currently being held in the psychiatric ward of Westchester Medical Center. Rivera reportedly confessed to the killings, saying he had done something bad and had killed somebody. Police are gathering evidence and plan to charge him with the murders of his father, Jonathan Rivera, his father’s girlfriend, Hanoi Peralta, and their young son, Kayden Rivera.

Before the incident, Jayden had informed his mother about hearing voices and expressed fears that his father and Peralta were going to harm him. The teenager was babysitting Kayden while his father and Peralta were on a date night. Neighbors reported hearing screams and the Lord’s Prayer in Spanish during the night.

The bodies of the victims were discovered on Sunday morning at Peralta’s apartment building in Mott Haven. Jonathan Rivera was found in the hallway with stab wounds, while Peralta was found dead in a bedroom. Their son, Kayden, was found on an air mattress with multiple stab wounds. The police found a small kitchen knife and a dented pot at the scene, suggesting that the victims were also beaten.

After the killings, Jayden went to his mother’s home in Westchester County, where he was later found by the police. He was taken to Westchester Medical Center for treatment but is expected to be transferred to Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan.

Family and friends of the victims expressed shock and disbelief at the tragedy. They described Jonathan Rivera as a loving father who worked hard to support his children. The couple had recently reconciled and were on a date night when the incident occurred.
