Active Shooter Drill to Take Place at Campus on Flamingo Road
Tomorrow, on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, a joint exercise will be conducted by the Clean Water Team and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) at their campus located at 5857 E Flamingo Rd. The exercise aims to simulate an active shooter situation and will run between 8am and 1pm.
The drill is being organized to enhance the preparedness and response capabilities of both the Clean Water Team and the LVMPD in the event of an actual active shooter incident. By conducting such drills, organizations can evaluate their emergency plans and procedures, identify areas for improvement, and train their staff to respond effectively during such critical situations.
During the exercise, simulated gunfire will be heard, and there will be a heavy police presence on the campus. It is essential for residents and passersby to be aware that these noises and activities are part of the drill and not a real emergency. The purpose of the simulated gunfire is to create a realistic scenario for the participants to practice their response tactics.
Public safety is of utmost importance, and both the Clean Water Team and the LVMPD have taken all necessary precautions to ensure that the drill is conducted safely. Adequate measures will be in place to protect the participants and the public, and the exercise will be closely monitored by trained professionals.
Residents and visitors in the vicinity of the campus are advised to exercise caution and remain calm during the drill. It is recommended to avoid the area if possible to minimize any potential disruptions. However, if you find yourself in the vicinity during the exercise, please follow the instructions of law enforcement personnel and cooperate fully to ensure the smooth running of the drill.
By proactively conducting drills of this nature, organizations can better equip themselves to handle emergencies and protect the safety and well-being of their staff and the community..
