Rahul Gandhi, Congress MP, criticized the Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) government in Telangana for not paying attention to the youth of the state ahead of the upcoming Telangana assembly polls. Speaking at a public meeting in Sangareddy, Gandhi highlighted the grievances of unemployed youth who claimed that paper leaks had prevented them from securing jobs despite their efforts and investments in competitive exams. He accused the government of neglecting the future of Telangana by not addressing these issues.

Gandhi also praised Congress governments in other states and demanded that the Chief Minister return money taken from the poor, farmers, and laborers by opposition parties. He interacted with youth in Ashok Nagar, Hyderabad, who expressed disappointment at the unfulfilled promises of the Telangana government. Gandhi stated that the youth had suffered greatly due to a lack of notifications, court cases, and paper leaks, resulting in 30 lakh unemployed youths in the state.

The Congress MP criticized the BRS government for its misrule over the past decade, claiming that it had adversely affected the youth of Telangana. However, he stressed that the youth were resilient and full of potential. To support their dreams, the Congress party released a job calendar promising to fill 2 lakh government jobs within the first year of their government in Telangana.

The issue of paper leaks and the cancellation of exams has been a pressing concern in the state. The Telangana high court had previously ordered the cancellation of preliminary examinations for Group-1 services due to alleged violations of exam conduct guidelines. The cancellation of exams has caused frustration among aspirants, with one young TSPSC aspirant, Pravalika, allegedly committing suicide due to the postponement of the TSPSC exam notification.

The tragic incident has sparked outrage from opposition leaders, including Congress State Chief Revanth Reddy and BJP MP K Laxman. They criticized the BRS government for its repeated cancellations and postponements of exams, which they believe contributed to Pravalika’s suicide.

Telangana is now preparing for the upcoming assembly polls on November 30, with the counting of votes scheduled for December 3. The state is expected to witness a triangular contest among the ruling TRS, BJP, and Congress parties.
