Tragic Murder in Kanpur: Shanno Kashyap Brutally Slain by Alleged Lover

A young woman was brutally murdered by a man on a highway bridge in Kanpur, Sunday morning. The assailant, identified as Suresh, allegedly attacked the victim, Shanno Kashyap, with an axe and a knife after she rejected his romantic advances. The attacker fled the scene but tragically took his own life by consuming poison later on.

Shanno was riding a bike with her brother-in-law, Sanoj Kashyap, and nephew, Raj, when Suresh intercepted them near a flyover just outside the village. He launched a vicious attack on her, causing fatal injuries to her head, neck, and hands. Sadly, she died on the spot due to the severity of her wounds.

Following the heinous crime, the police initiated a manhunt for Suresh. Eventually, they discovered him in critical condition at a secluded area called Gaganpur Aahar, around 10 kilometers away from the crime scene. Suresh was frothing at the mouth, indicating that he had consumed poison. He was rushed to Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital, where he succumbed to the poison and passed away.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (west), Vijay Dhull, revealed that Suresh had an unhealthy obsession with Shanno, which led him to commit this gruesome act. The investigation is ongoing, with Station House Officer (Bilhor), Surendra Singh, striving to determine the exact motive behind this violent attack.

This incident has shaken the local community, and residents are demanding justice for Shanno’s untimely death. The tragic event serves as a reminder of the importance of addressing mental health issues and promoting respectful relationships. Authorities are urged to take appropriate measures to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
