Three members of a family, including a six-year-old boy, were tragically killed in a horrific accident between a truck and a motorbike in Latehar district, Jharkhand. The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon near Chitarpur village, about 90km from the state capital of Ranchi.
According to the police, the family was traveling on a motorbike when it collided head-on with the truck on Balumath-Chandra road. The man, woman, and their son died on the spot, while their three-year-old daughter sustained serious injuries. She was immediately rushed to Balumath community health center for initial treatment and later referred to Ranchi’s Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) for further medical care.

The deceased have been identified as Vijay Ganjhu, aged 28, Devanti Devi, aged 26, and their son Amrit Kumar, aged six. The injured girl has been identified as Ankita Kumari. All of them hailed from Angara village in Chandwa.
Dharmendra Kumar Mahto, the in-charge of Balumath police station, confirmed that the truck involved in the accident has been seized and both the driver and helper have been apprehended.
The news of this tragic incident has left the local community in shock and mourning. The loss of three lives, including that of a young child, has deeply saddened the residents of Latehar district.
Authorities are investigating the details of the accident to determine the cause and ensure justice is served. Road accidents continue to be a major concern in Jharkhand, and stricter measures are needed to prevent such tragic incidents in the future.
