The incident occurred when a truck collided head-on with their motorbike near Chitarpur village. According to Balumath police station in-charge Dharmendra Kumar Mahto, the family of four was on their motorbike when the truck crashed into them on the Balumath-Chandra road. Sadly, the man, woman, and their son died on the spot, while their daughter sustained severe injuries. After receiving primary medical assistance at Balumath community health center, the girl was immediately transferred to RIMS in Ranchi for further treatment.

The deceased have been identified as Vijay Ganjhu (28), Devanti Devi (26), and their six-year-old son, Amrit Kumar. The injured girl has been identified as Ankita Kumari. The family resided in Angara village in Chandwa.
In response to the accident, the authorities have seized the truck involved and apprehended both the driver and the helper. The police are conducting a thorough investigation into the incident.
