Latehar (Jharkhand), 26th November – A tragic accident in Jharkhand’s Latehar district claimed the lives of three family members, including a six-year-old boy, and left a three-year-old girl with serious injuries. The incident occurred on Sunday when a truck collided head-on with their motorbike near Chitarpur village, approximately 90km from the state capital, Ranchi.

According to the police, the injured girl was immediately taken to Ranchi’s Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) for urgent medical attention. The four family members were riding the motorbike when the collision occurred on the Balumath-Chandra road.

Dharmendra Kumar Mahto, the officer in charge at Balumath police station, provided further details, stating, “The man, woman, and their son sadly lost their lives on the spot, while their daughter sustained severe injuries. After receiving primary treatment at Balumath community health centre, she was referred to RIMS in Ranchi for advanced medical care.”

The deceased victims have been identified as Vijay Ganjhu (28), Devanti Devi (26), and Amrit Kumar (six), while the injured girl is named Ankita Kumari. They were residents of Angara village in Chandwa.

Mahto confirmed that the truck involved in the collision has been seized, and both the driver and helper have been apprehended by the authorities.

This tragic incident has left the local community in shock and mourning. The loss of three lives, including that of a young child, highlights the need for enhanced road safety measures in the region. Authorities have urged drivers to exercise caution and adhere to traffic rules to prevent such accidents in the future.
