Meerut, Uttar Pradesh – Three workers were tragically killed on Sunday after a heap of soil collapsed on them at a construction site in the Bhavanpur area of Meerut district, according to local authorities.
The incident occurred while the workers were excavating the basement of a house that was still under construction, said Additional SP (Rural) Kamlesh Bahadur.

The injured labourers were rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment, but unfortunately, they succumbed to their injuries, Bahadur added.
The victims, identified as Ramchandra, Guru Prasad, and Ram Pravesh, were all aged between 35 and 40 years, as confirmed by the police.
Following the tragic incident, an FIR (First Information Report) is being filed against the contractor and the house owner under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, informed the police.
