Rescue teams quickly arrived at the scene to provide assistance and transport the injured to hospitals. Thirteen students were taken to the Poly Clinic Hospital, while eight were taken to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences.

Eyewitnesses reported that some passengers had disembarked from the bus before the accident occurred. Following the incident, the driver was arrested, and a case was registered by the Islamabad Inspector General of Police.

This is not the first tragic road accident to occur in Pakistan recently. Just earlier this month, a woman was killed and eight others, including children, were injured in a collision on Karachi’s Sharea Faisal. In September, eight people lost their lives and two sustained injuries in an accident on Motorway M-5 in Sadiqabad. The cause of that particular accident was determined to be overspeeding.

The authorities must take immediate action to improve road safety and prevent further tragedies. Accidents like these serve as a reminder of the importance of responsible driving and ensuring the safety of all passengers, especially children.
