Revenue Officer Prashanna Singh Allegedly Killed by Mining Mafia in Madhya Pradesh’s Shahdol District

Bhopal: A revenue officer, known as a patwari, has reportedly been killed by the mining mafia in Madhya Pradesh’s Shahdol district. The tragic incident took place in the Beuhari area of Shahdol district during the late hours of Saturday and Sunday.

After receiving information about an illegal mining operation, the revenue officer, accompanied by three other staff members, swiftly arrived at the scene. The team objected to the unlawful mining activities and issued a warning about potential legal consequences. However, tragedy struck as the revenue officer was run over by a tractor.

The critically injured officer was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment early on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Prashanna Singh, a 45-year-old resident of Rewa district, who was serving as a Patwari in the Beuhari area of Shahdol district.

Following the incident, an FIR (First Information Report) has been registered against unidentified individuals, and authorities have initiated a search operation to apprehend the culprits responsible for this heinous act. However, as of now, no arrests have been made.

This shocking incident highlights the dangers faced by revenue officers who confront illegal activities, such as mining, in the state. The incident has sparked outrage among the local community and prompted calls for stricter measures to combat the influential mining mafia.

The loss of this dedicated revenue officer has left the community in mourning and has once again drawn attention to the urgent need for increased protection for those responsible for enforcing the law.
