Patwari Prasanna Singh Baghel Crushed to Death by Truck While Stopping Illegal Sand Mining

A Patwari, who was trying to stop illegal sand mining in the Son River, was tragically killed by a truck in Madhya Pradesh’s Shahdol district on Saturday night. The police have apprehended the suspect and filed a complaint.

The victim, Prasanna Singh Baghel, was a Patwari, or revenue officer, stationed at Khadda in Beohari Tehsil. He was part of a team of four Patwaris who had been assigned to patrol the area following numerous complaints of illegal sand mining under the jurisdiction of Deolond police station.

“After receiving several complaints, a joint team was formed and sent for patrolling when this incident occurred. The suspect has been detained, and a complaint has been filed against them,” stated SP Kumar Prateek, as reported by news agency ANI.
