The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Omolola Odutola, issued a statement refuting the claims. The Ogun Police Command confirmed the arrest of Oduyiga Seyi Samson and another suspect following recent cult clashes in Sagamu. According to the statement, Sagamu witnessed a series of cult clashes resulting in the death of five rival cultists. Acting on an intelligence report, the police conducted a covert operation and apprehended two suspected cultists, including Oduyiga Seyi Samson. Both suspects confessed to being members of the outlawed Buccaneer and Eiye confraternity secret cult. The Ogun State Police Command strongly denied torturing the deceased and emphasized its commitment to upholding fundamental human rights laws. The police stated that torture is strictly against their protocols and principles.
