A young man from Margate has been identified as the victim of a fatal shooting in Tamarac, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office. The incident occurred on the night before Thanksgiving, and authorities are still searching for the person responsible.
The victim, 21-year-old Mateo Delgado, was discovered by deputies late Wednesday evening after they received a 911 call reporting shots fired in the 7000 block of Northwest 79th Avenue, just west of University Drive. Delgado was found suffering from a gunshot wound outside a gate of the Bonaire Woodmont residential community.

Despite the efforts of paramedics from Tamarac Fire Rescue, Delgado was pronounced dead at the scene. The initial investigation revealed that Delgado had been inside a vehicle when he was shot. He attempted to drive away but ultimately crashed into a nearby pole.
Detectives are continuing their search for the assailant who remains at large. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
