Man named Vijay Mandal murdered by two accused and arrested by LT Marg police

Two individuals have been apprehended by the Lokmanya Tilak (LT) Marg police in connection with a man’s murder. The accused, using the string from their pajama rope, strangled the man to death. The police received a distress message on Saturday at 11:30 am reporting an unconscious person on the footpath of Dhanji Street, within the jurisdiction of the LT Marg police station. When the police arrived at the scene, they transported the individual to GT Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.

The post mortem examination disclosed that the cause of death was strangulation. The investigation revealed the victim’s identity as Vijay Mandal, who worked as a hand cart driver. The police brought Pradeep Mandal (28) and Suraj Pramanik (28) to the police station for questioning, and both confessed to the murder of Vijay Mandal.

Police officials discovered that Pradeep Mandal and Suraj Pramanik had a previous dispute with the deceased Vijay Mandal. The accused assaulted Mandal around 1:30 am on Saturday and proceeded to strangle him with a pajama rope.

An LT Marg police officer stated that during the course of the investigation, it came to light that an initial Accidental Death Report (ADR) had been filed. However, when the post mortem report confirmed the murder, the case was reclassified as a murder investigation.

The police promptly arrested both suspects and presented them before the court, which subsequently remanded them to police custody. The investigation into the matter is ongoing.

The motive behind the murder remains unclear at this stage, as the police continue to gather evidence and interview witnesses. The court proceedings will shed more light on the case as it progresses.
