Teenager Fatally Struck on I-70 in Frederick

Frederick, MD – An investigation is underway by the Maryland State Police following a tragic accident on I-70 that resulted in the death of a 17-year-old boy from Frederick County. The victim has been identified as Henry Alberto Sosa Torres, a resident of Emmitsburg. Emergency medical services from Frederick County swiftly responded to the scene but unfortunately, Torres was pronounced dead upon their arrival.

Reports flooded in to the Frederick Barrack of the Maryland State Police last night, just after 11pm, regarding a pedestrian wandering in the westbound lanes of I-70 in Frederick County. Troopers promptly arrived at the location and discovered a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle near New Design Road.

Early investigations suggest that a 64-year-old woman, Mojisola Sofoluke from Owings Mills, was driving a blue 2007 Mercedes Benz sedan in the second lane of westbound I-70 when she collided with the pedestrian on the roadway. Sofoluke was immediately transported to Meritus Medical Center in Washington County to receive treatment for her injuries sustained in the crash.

The Maryland State Police are actively pursuing their investigation into this incident.
