Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh – A man was fatally shot in Aligarh’s Surendra Nagar area, leading to his death during treatment, according to local police. The victim, identified as Ashok Gupta, was the owner of a grocery store in the area.
Police received information from a man named Manish Kunar, who claimed that his father was shot near their grocery store in Surendra Nagar. Aligarh SSP Kalanidhi Naithani stated that he and other police personnel immediately rushed to the scene and reviewed the CCTV footage in the area.

Based on the complaint received by the police, a case was registered against the unknown attackers. The SSP confirmed that efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the culprits.
Further investigation revealed that a relative of the deceased, Bhavustosh, was present at the spot earlier but left due to a disruptive biker who was honking loudly. The biker, accompanied by others, later returned in search of Bhavutosh. However, when they couldn’t find him, they opened fire at Ashok Gupta instead.
Ashok was quickly rushed to Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, where he received treatment for his injuries. Local BJP MLA Anil Parashar, who also happens to be Gupta’s neighbor, paid him a visit during his time at the hospital. Unfortunately, Gupta succumbed to his injuries and passed away.
The Aligarh SSP mentioned that several individuals have been identified in connection with the case and police teams have been formed to apprehend them.
