Man Arrested in Missouri for Killing Pregnant Woman and Stuffing Her Body in a Suitcase

A man accused of murdering a pregnant woman in Wisconsin and concealing her body in a suitcase has been apprehended in Gladstone, Missouri. On Thursday morning, Gladstone police detected a vehicle with a stolen license plate passing through the city using automated license plate readers. The authorities located the red Ford Fusion in a parking lot on Northwest Englewood Road at around 12:34 a.m. During their interaction with the driver, the suspect presented multiple ID cards and provided different names to the officers. The individual was later identified as Jose Eduardo Dominguez-Garcia, a 26-year-old resident of Chippewa County, Wisconsin.

Upon confirmation of his identity, the police discovered outstanding warrants from Chippewa County against Dominguez-Garcia. The charges include first-degree intentional homicide, first-degree intentional homicide of an unborn child, and hiding a corpse. Dominguez-Garcia was taken into custody without any resistance and is currently being held at the Clay County Detention Center in Missouri. Extradition proceedings to Wisconsin are underway.

The circumstances surrounding the original case were highlighted by the police in their statement. According to local newspaper Leader-Telegram, Dominguez-Garcia stands accused of murdering 25-year-old Rosaly Cindy Chavarria Rodriguez. Rodriguez, who was pregnant at the time, went missing in July 2020. Her body was eventually discovered in a suitcase at a farmhouse in Wheaton, Wisconsin, in October 2020. The suspect had reportedly worked with Rodriguez at a nearby restaurant and they were in a relationship during her disappearance.

Dominguez-Garcia’s car was found in Wisconsin a month after Rodriguez went missing, with investigators noticing fluids in the trunk that indicated the presence of a decomposing body. Subsequently, during a drug investigation, officers received information about a suitcase containing a body on a farm near Wheaton.

Authorities have not disclosed the reason for Dominguez-Garcia’s presence in Gladstone or the duration of his stay in the area. The investigation into this horrific crime continues, and the suspect awaits extradition to face justice in Wisconsin.
