31-Year-Old Wilfred Ballantyne Found Dead in Kitsaki, Saskatchewan

Saskatchewan RCMP are currently conducting an investigation into a homicide that occurred in the early hours of the morning within the Lac La Ronge Indian Band community in Kitsaki.

According to reports, the La Ronge RCMP received a call about an unresponsive male in the community at approximately 1:15 a.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered the lifeless body of a 31-year-old male. The deceased has been identified as Wilfred Ballantyne from Pelican Narrows, Saskatchewan. The victim’s family has been informed, and Victim Services has been contacted to provide support during this difficult time.

Authorities have charged a 22-year-old woman, Mary Bird from La Ronge, with one count of second-degree murder in connection with the incident. Bird is set to make an appearance in La Ronge Provincial Court on November 27 at 9:30 a.m.

The RCMP Major Crimes unit is currently leading the ongoing investigation into the incident. As a result, there will be an increased police presence in the community to ensure the safety and security of residents.

In other news, the RCMP has reported an unrelated incident that occurred last week, involving a 42-year-old man who was found dead in his residence. The investigation into this incident is also ongoing.
