15-Year-Old Boy Hospitalized After Shooting in Dayton

A 15-year-old boy was taken to the hospital on Saturday night after being shot in Dayton. The incident occurred in the first block of Willowwood Drive, close to Edwin Joel Brown Middle School, at approximately 5:40 p.m. It was initially reported that the shooting took place on W. Fairview Avenue, which intersects with Willowwood Drive.

According to a 911 call made to Montgomery County dispatchers, shots were fired and the caller’s cousin was lying on the ground. The caller explained that his cousin had been the target of a robbery and was shot during the altercation. The victim was bleeding profusely, with blood staining his shirt.

Dispatch records indicate that two suspects fled the scene, making their way through houses on Willowwood Drive. The injured teenager, who was identified as a 15-year-old, was promptly transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. The current condition of the victim has yet to be disclosed.
